To Our Design Impact Community:
On behalf of the Board of Directors of Design Impact, I am pleased to announce Teresa L. Gonzalez as DI’s new executive director. The board, alongside DI’s staff, conducted a thorough candidate search with the aid of talent firm, Nonprofit HR. We met many talented candidates through the process, but Teresa was the clear standout to join the Design Impact team.
Teresa comes to Design Impact with more than 20 years of experience and an extensive background in reimagining complex systems within the social justice sector. Prior to joining Design Impact, she lived in the Bay Area and served as executive director of Centro Legal de la Raza where she was a champion for low wage workers’, tenants’, and immigrants’ rights in Fruitvale, Oakland, Alameda County, and throughout California.
As executive director, Teresa will work closely with staff and the Design Impact board to imagine how the organization can be part of the broader racial, social, and economic justice movement to ensure that communities of color around the country are defining and living into their visions for their own liberation.
“We are honored to welcome Teresa Gonzalez as Design Impact’s next executive director. Her incredible track record, breadth of experience, and dedication to racial equity have already made her an absolute asset to this team and the community.” – Founding Executive Director, Kate Hanisian
Teresa is excited about the opportunity to lead Design Impact into its next chapter and to increase the impact of the organization locally, nationally, and beyond.
We at Design Impact warmly welcome Teresa and are excited for what’s to come. Together, we continue as an organization to forge forward creating a more equitable world, and we are forever thankful for your continued support.
In service,
Ashlee Young
