TOOL OF THE WEEK:
STORY OF SELF – OUR PUBLIC NARRATIVE DURING CRISIS
When we started sharing our weekly tools in April, we were in the throes of uncertainty. And these tools were a small way that DI could help make sense of this overwhelming moment in our collective history. But oddly enough, this “new normal” doesn’t feel so new anymore. So we’re winding down our weekly COVID tool newsletter.
As we settle back into our regular newsletter, drop us a line and tell us what you thought of this newsletter series. How are you (or your organization) adapting? How are you applying these tools? What about this time makes you hopeful?
Stories can move the emotions that get us to take action and create change. Right now, our newsfeeds are full of stories and articles meant to amplify the urgency of our situation. How can your own story influence future action? How can it connect you to a collective movement? This reflection tool can help you identify the key moments that helped bring you to this point as a leader.
We introduced the Story of Self at Studio C, our human-centered design training program for nonprofits with United Way of Greater Cincinnati.
